Hello group! My name is Kem Poyner. I have been involved in RC for over 25 years. I have enjoyed Warbirds, Civilian and EDF jets. Years back I competed in IMAC aerobatic events. I used to build all my planes but got caught up in the foamy craze. I missed the building part so I have just started a Ziroli Stuka. Not sure if I will compete in scale with it, but I am going to build it as detailed as possible. I have learned so much just lurking around on this amazing site and look forward to becoming an active member. I am located in Mesa Arizona so maybe I might make a new friend or two!

Kem,
Welcome to the site & glad to have you aboard. It was mentioned you intend to detail your Stuka as much as possible. Does that also include interiors? If so, you’ve got options. There are a couple of aftermarkets out there to help, lots of fellow members who have built a Stuka & for photographic reference, aside from the Internet, I’ve got dozens of b+w photos of the Stuka interior.

Hi and welcome to RCSB Kem.
I'm sure you will get lots of references from members here - Uncle Paulie seems to have a huge Stuka resouce!

Pattern guys adapt to scale flying because they have flown a disciplined flight routine and developed a eye for symmetry of maneuvers.
and they know how to set up the airplane and radio "Correctly"
Welcome aboard

I just purchased the Ziroli JU87B short and completion kits from National Balsa. I already have the plans. The main lading gear will be purchased this Friday. Then its off and building.

Hey Kem,
Welcome to RCSB, this is the place to learn scale and we all learn something new on a regular basis.
A few years back I did a Stuka that you'll find in the Ziroli pages. I do not want to discourage you at all but if you are contemplating competition with your model, be aware that the Ziroli design, is not particularly accurate to outline, particularly the fuselage.
Nick designed the model back in the 80's when everyone had a G62, bigger servos and batteries, large spinners weren't that easy to come by and plug in wings weren't the norm etc. He played around with nose length and the moment arm, to ensure that his design was easy to balance and a great flyer.....which it is! Some say its the trainer of all warbirds and I think thats accurate.
Stick to the design and you'll have a great looking Stuka that will fly extremely well. In Standoff scale no real problems, but if compared with known 3 views you'll find the judges can be harsh......I'm speaking from experience building from plans before compiling my documentation.
Looking forward to seeing your build.
Phil
