Greetings fellow scale builders! I hope this month’s site news finds you all doing well and enjoying our great hobby that we all love so much. Here in the northern hemisphere things are starting to warm a bit as the sun works its way back up to us... Meanwhile, our friends down under are heading into building season. Just a few items to cover this month.
1. Safety... For those getting ready for flying season be sure to check out our seasonal model safety checklist. It’s a quick way to make sure your models are operating correctly and give it a good going over without missing anything. Check it out!
2. Hobby – noun - "An activity done regularly in one's leisure time for pleasure". Way to often we all see to many people get very upset about things that they cannot control these days. This seems to extend into our hobby unfortunately. While we all should stand up for what we are passionate about, sometimes you have to step back and take a reality check about what is really important in your life and what isn't. The whole idea of a hobby is to ENJOY yourself, not get worked up and bent out of shape. I hope you all (as well as myself) will not allow others to "bring you down" at the flying field, on the web, or at an event. Negativity in a pleasurable activity is not a good mix. Let’s all try and keep things in perspective.
3. FAQ (Frequently Ask Questions) - If you are new to RCSB save yourself some time and check on the FAQ page (linked at the top of every single page on this site) where most of your questions can be answered without having to wait for an email back. The questions and answers are organized into categories and there are even some video tutorials there. So if you have never seen it be sure to check it out. It's a great resource when you have a question.
That’s it for this month. I hope you all have a great March and hope to meet up at an event soon!
Cheers, Mike
