It will fly as good as it looks.  Mine is an old beater now after 100's of flights but I still love the way it flies.

Carl, Thanks for the assurance. It's a little "porky" with the added details.

Michael, Not only the tires, rcvr, batteries, and the gear legs are springy. I fear they'll bend up under the strain of one of my normal landings, not ot mention an abnormal.

I have flown mine with a OS 108, Saito 100 and now a Laser 120.  Weight is about 11 pounds.  Platt mentions lighter to be a problem and I think 13 would be OK.  I liked the 1/4 Jungie so much I built a 30% from Hostetler that weighed to much for aerobatics but still a nice presence in the air.  I have bent my gear many times.  I remade Robart Cub gear to fit my larger Jungie.  A little spring can go a long way.

Carl, I agree about the springs. At 1/4 scale the struts aren't large enough for internal springs. I contemplated bungees but never got around to it. I remember 14# is about right. Probably should do that before it flies. As they say, a model is never finished, you just go on to the next one.

Captain Dave

know how you feel. I also completed my Dave Platt 1/4 jungmeister after a year of slow building, finally got it to the field after a few months of false starts (too windy, on-board glow battery lead broke etc) I had brain fade and launched / panicked / crashed > another month too repair then got our heavy inspector to maiden, flew myself several times till I caught a cross wind and cartwheeled it on the strip > repaired but tip stalled on test run and brought it home spread over the boot of my car. liked it so much I scavenged bits and rebuilt. had Dave maiden also. see build photos on our clubs website (madrams.webs.com) also videos of both flights with others.

don't now what it is just love the plane. next project a slightly smaller Jung* in electric with a sound mode.

al the best bulding / flying. John Lansdowne Mackay Australia.
