Giant Scale Nut: yep, sorry to say you qualify.
What I didn't mention was I kept it a secret from my wife and I purposely went to the main entrance of our apartment complex to get inside the limo before he pulled up to our apartment. My wife was wondering where the heck I went off to, especially after buckling in our grandkids into the backseat of our car. As the limo pulled up, she looked at it in astonishment and wondered why that huge thing was there, when I opened the door and got out. I took a long bow and gestured to her that "the door is open for you and the kids." She just looked up to the sky and slapped her forehead as if to say, "Yeah, that sounds like my husband to pull off a stunt like this."....

Gary, sounds like a nice surprise for your wife. I'm sure she will never forget that day. The one thing my wife remembers of our wedding day is the limo that picked her up. She didn't know about it at all till the driver rang the door bell. After 23 years she still remembers like it was yesterday...

OMG!! Gaandahl, you're absotively posilutely (my wife's favorite expression) correct! We all got carried away and I for one, sincerely thank you for calling that to our attention. It's back to you Mr. Tim.

Not a worry, Skye. I love hearing others' experiences and learning about the diversity of this community. Gaandahl, good to hear from you. Where do you fly? Right now, my main field is flooded but I have a couple of others that I fly at. Minnesota has a vast number of clubs and places to fly. I am planning on going to Northern Alliance Military Fly In at Southern Minnesota Model Aircraft Club. Not planning to fly anything there this year but hoping to meet some of the 'Scale Gurus' there. :-)

Tim,I'm with Rich Valley RC club, with a field south of Hastings. It has a nice mix of electrics and large-scale gassers. It is not especially oriented toward competition, it's more like a good gang to hang out with. GAANDAHL

Tim,
Should you attend the Alliance Military Fly-In, please take some photos, especially of those of classics and close-ups of the detailed ones and have them posted here. Just curious. I'm living in Reno, Nevada, home of the National Championship Air Races. Whereas we have the fastest motor sport in the world, including the Mustang painted overall white with the letters of "Aviation Partners" participating, insofar as the modeling aspects, we're sorely lacking here. The last hobby shop within a 100 mile radius closed it doors for the last time last year.
Thank you for enjoying our little diversity. We sometimes get a little bit carried away.

I’m very excited that you are making a giant scale Warbird. It’s been one of the best things I’ve done in r/c, and I’m sure knowing you, that you’re going to enjoy it immensely. After reading your background, you’re an impressive person, glad I can call you a friend. Any questions I call help with I’ll be glad to answer.
