Just a quick hello and intro.
My name is Rob and I'm from Lutterworth in England. I've been an active model flyer for over 35 years now and after flying models from small wooden to large foam models and EDF jets, I've chosen to go back to my roots, to when I first started making models from plans, the only difference this time is I'm going big, starting with Nick Ziroli's Beech 18. I've also got lined up, Don Smith's Super Constellation and B-24 Liberator and Jerry Bates Sea Fury, so I'm going to be pretty busy, oh yea and all my models are electric.

Hi Bob, and welcome to RCSB!
Before you start the Connie be sure to check out Adder's build here LINK. It should help you avoid a lot of pitfalls!
Looking forward to your 18 . . .

It's a model I've been wanting to build for some time now but never found one big enough till now after finding out Nick did a plan for one. I have all the parts laser cut and the plan and just waiting for the sheeting and spars to turn up Monday then I will be starting it. We'll looking forward to a good build instead of the 30 minute foamies I've recently had

Rob,
Good morning and welcome to the site. Glad to have an active modeler from the U.K. I have always had a facination of many aircraft of British origin & even buy Scale Flying Models & RCEM (or is it RCME?). I'm more into smaller scale models since I live in a small apartment (flat). Still, do lots of detailing. I'm also an avid collector of photos of different aircraft. Have many detailed close ups of the -18, AT-11, & the -45. Beautiful plane!
By any chance do you have access to a (now) German heat-shrink covering with a fabric weave pattern called "Oratex?" It's supposed to be available to the US through Horizon Hobbies, but so far, so cigar. Solartex used to be my covering of choice, but as you probably well know, they closed their doors March of this year. I would imagine you may be needing some covering for the flying control surfaces, thus my reasons for inquiring.
I'll follow your build thread & again, welcome to the site.
Sincerely,
Skye

Skye yes I am aware of it but fortunately I have three 8 meter rolls of antique solartex left over from a quarter scale Hurricane that I'll be using on the Beech 18 control surfaces.
