Hello builders!

By introduction, my name is Paddy. I joined RCSB a few years back, but only began a build thread of my own this time last year. So, this is more of a re-introduction.

I'm a retired US Marine and long-time RC fanatic. My family originated in Canada, and I am of veteran stock on both sides for generations aback. While both my parents were military, it was my Uncle Eugene Chiasson (aka Deacon) who regaled me with stories of service in Vietnam, and for whom I claim my interest in joining the military arose.

Certainly with sufficient draft-dodging going on in the US, nothing stopped my mother's 4 Canadian brothers from serving the US Army and Air Forces during either Korea, Vietnam, or both. In turn, I too served the Canadian Army for 8 years, before immigrating to the US for service as a Marine.
In any case, throughout all my aircraft flown and since destroyed, it never dawned on me until recently to build an L-19 Bird Dog, in commemoration for my Uncle Deacon's service in Vietnam.

You can catch up on my build thread in the Roy Vaillancourt forum: 1/5 Scale Commemoration (or words to that effect)
Best regards, "Scairborne66"..or Paddy is fine!
