I just got done test flying my first of two EF-1 Electric pylon racers. It is overall yellow and I have Kirby's Kuston Graphics doing the color parts of the plane.
I figured that i needed to make sure it flys well enough to invest the money for the stickers that will be added. The idea is they will be twins when done.
It is built from a kit and ended up at 3 pounds 2 oz ready to fly, the sad part issue that to be race legal it needs to weigh 3.5 pounds so I have to add 6 OZ in final race trim while a very clean design it takes a bit to slow down but it lands stupid slow. We will see what it does after we put some lead in it.
And for the haters, yes it is a scale outline just not a scale color scheme.
See the next post for a picture if I can get it to load

Oh man you are hard to please.
It flew great still dialing the racing rates down its a little too quick in the turns but as I said this thing lands stupid simple, no tip stalling and at least 5 MPH slower than the Proud Bird ARF I started with. But its all about How fast not how slow. So Give me a couple more flights and then. I'll get on the two poles and see what rips.
To do the three pole stuff I need the field by myself since several of the safetys have to be violated. For three pole you stand on the runway and fly around yourself. which puts the plane over the pits. Our club rules allow for this sort of thing if everyone present agrees to the safety exceptions. Since I would be the only one there I would agree with myself to fly like that.
I was quite surprised at last years Pylon NATS I was quite comfortable flying my EF-1 racer doing the three pole thing after a span of 25+ years not doing it.
Oh, did I mention I am the defending National Champion in the two pole club 40 pylon racing.
Repeat in 2016!

Hey here are the twins out for a family picture.
Sorry for the delay in posting I had to relearn how to resize the pictures, it's not easy or intuitive
For us old guys
Now back to some really scale airplanes
Sparky
Ps. Ain't no FAA number on my planes, there are two different numbers on my plane the AMA and NMPRA numbers.
I figure if my "drone" lands some where else they will be able to figure out whose "drone" it is.

So good looking airplanes can go fast too!
I was in a three way fly off for third place. Both guys were about 10 seconds faster than me so unless they screwed up I would end up in fifth place. Not bad for only my second 3 pole race in 35 years.
And I did it at the NAT's!
I am pictured with my caller Jason Oliver who called a brilliant race for me. No cuts let the big dogs race each other and cut out while I was getting 10 clean laps in.
Oh and you can't see it but I'm wearing my "Built not Bought"
Shirt that I recently received from boB

Hey Sparky,
Beautiful airplanes! I love the shape of that wing, smooth and elliptical. Don't feel like your all alone with the photo posting complications, I finally gave up and moved on to a new forum due to the complex process.
Brenda & I missed seeing you at the R/C scale NAT's this year, it was a really outstanding event and I am already planning on attending next year:)
Congratulations on your racing win, I know you love to go fast!
