Photog Glenn Baker snapped these pics a couple of weeks ago at our annual Big Bird meet.
Glenn gives them that little extra contrast enhancement. He takes some fine photos.

The Zeke is 85 inches, DLE-55 RA, Spring Aire retracts with Robart Struts, Sullivan wheels, Ziroli replacement canopy, Dave Platt Spinner, shop made aluminum gear doors, Xoar 22x10 prop, TBM Pilot, about 75 to 100 flights.

I had one of these and it flew so well..

I was on flight number 8 and I thought I am going to have this a long time it flies so nice. Then the elevator felt funny, and went away. I had just leveled from a shallow dive and the plane seemed to be slightly gaining altitude with no elevator control. I was in the perfect spot to turn to final and land so I gently banked it over, it came around and was lined  up perfect on the runway. Pulling back the throttle to get it lower ,yet above the corn is tricky , because you don't want to be to high and miss the field. The plane started to descend to quickly and it went in at a slight angle.  It never even dove.

Had I been over the field it wouldn't have been to bad.. But it came down in the dried corn and the cobs were like bricks, they just beat that plane to pieces.. After digging thru the wreck it seemed pretty obvious the servo screw had fallen out of the steel geared servo (swore I lock tighted it) and then the fiber glass pushrod had somehow snagged on the internal structure of the wing which held neutral elevator...

I will always have to elevator servos on any new big plane I build...

foodstick, I dinged this one a couple of months ago, getting about 2 MPH slow on landing. Tore the right gear out and stressed the aft fuselage. Had to sand it down to the glass and cover with 3/4 oz cloth and Z-Poxy, prime and paint. Never have had a serious crash, just a few fairly minor dings. She's back flying now and she flies nicely. I love this Zeke.

I've since added the fuselage Meatballs (Hinomaru) from B and E Graphix. I also added some weathering as these were pretty rough in the field. Haven't gotten to weathering the wings yet. Always something there to detail if you want.

Its a great flying arf to be sure. Just needs dressing up , and the good once over like any plane you buy built.

Your repair looks good , and I am sure it will fly as good as new when you are done.
