Hey all,

I thought I'd put up some pics of my 1/4 Scale BUSA Pup. I can't take the credit for building it because I bought it finished. It however didn't come with running gear so I'm currently fitting it out and she should be ready to fly soon.

Anyway here's some pics.

Here's the new power plant for it. A Saito 182

And here semi assembled to check CoG.

Don't mind the messy shed and the people. It was shed night last night at my place hahaha.

Well what an eventful morning on Sunday. It was maiden day and it was not good haha.

First off the prop hit my finger. Hurt but no blood.

Ok so then on to tune it and I had a friend doing it for me. I bought the engine off him and he was showing me how to tune it properly. It has a Saito 182 twin which has the dual carbs. It also has 4 glow plugs.

So anyway one of the front plugs came out hit the back of the prop. It flung up and hit my mate in the neck. Blood everywhere and he was standing in the so called safe spot, behind the plane. Safe to say I felt really really bad. Probably not as bad as his cut and bruised neck. After getting him cleaned up and sorted out to make sure he was ok I double checked everything. All good but gweez what a freak accident.

Then come maiden flight and it was horrible. We think the tail incidence is off and possibly the c of g. All it wanted to do was go skyward. I had a mate who is a far better pilot then I do the maiden and he did a bloody brilliant job of getting it back down. Anyway it came down and it's in one piece so I'll need to check a few things but it should be OK.
