A quick greeting to all. Joined about two weeks and have a few projects lined up. Retired firefighter and was out of RC for 35 years- like 1979. Back in 3 years ago and currently flying AW P51 and large gas Extras and SBACHS. Also, clinging to small glow, 60-120. Love the smell of nitro in the morning. Trying my hand at electrics for quick in the air flights. Mind boggling changes since the pre-historic '70's. Happy to be here.

I'm down for the count with this stuff. No cure, especially for some projects that were impossible with '70's technology. A lot to check out on this site. Gonna take many hours or is it days, weeks?

Randall,

I'm like you,I left the hobby in 1982 and got back into it about 2 years ago when I retired. Finding everything has changed from electronics to even the normal size for a scale warbird. Back in the 80's the norm. for a scale plane was a .60 size engine with a wingspan around 65"'s now there 85"'s plus and glow fuel is not used much. A definite new learning experiance, I restarted with a trainer  a PT 60 to see how much flying I forgot. Like riding a bike it comes back to you but a little on the rough side. Good luck with the adventure, I guess it is true that the little kid inside of us never leaves...

Ditto to that. We used to think a 14" prop was huge- it's a tooth pick now. Best, Randy
