Season's Greetings! While this year has been trying for most and tragic for some, I hope that you all are as thankful as I am for our wonderful community here on RCSB. It has continued to allow me to meet some new folks and make some new friends along with enjoying the friendships already made here on the site from all over the world. If you would have told me back when I was a young man I would have so many friends from all over the world now, I would not have believed it. What an amazing time we live in these days.

Speaking of technology... On the darker side of things, for those on Facebook RCSB Will be removing its Facebook presence on December 31st. Knowing what I know about what Facebook does as a company to its members (manipulating member's timelines, tracking you outside of Facebook, conducting social experiments on its members, and covering up your timeline with ads) I can no longer in good conscience participate nor support them. However, RCSB now has a presence on MeWe which is a social media platform that respects your privacy and does not cover you up with ads. If you are interested, you can find the RCSB page there by clicking here.

This time of year also makes me reflect back on the last year and look at things I have accomplished and think about things I want to accomplish next year in our hobby. I definitely feel I fell short on mentoring in the hobby this last year because of the pandemic, but plan on changing that in the upcoming year. I also want to try and spend more time here on the site trying to improve your experience and add more value to your membership here as time allows. Let me know what YOUR hobby goals are for 2021!

As we all prepare to spend time with family and/or friends this holiday season, I would ask each of you to please be safe in your travels and very aware of others driving as well. And please, no matter what do not drink and drive. Regardless of how or what you celebrate this time of year, and regardless of where you are in the world, enjoy the time with your loved ones and friends.

"Peace on earth, and goodwill to all men."
I wish you a Merry Christmas from here in the USA.

Mike

Mike:

I'm glad to see you pull your presence off of Facebook! I personally have not looked at them for some time.

Mike,

With all the stay at home time I was afforded due to Coronavirus, I was able to pick up the hobby for the first time in years. This site has really been a huge help. Thank you and Merry Christmas! Looking forward to what 2021 will bring!

Same to you Mike!  During these times it couldn't be more important to find joy in the simple things like friends, family, pets and hobbies.

Regarding social media, I personally prefer to get my RCSB fix right here.  No better place to meet like minded folks enjoying a common love for this great hobby.  Thanks for giving us a place to gather, show what we are working on and just hang out.

Paul

Merry Christmas Mike and to all my friends met and unmet here on RSCB.

2020 is almost behind us.  May 2021 be a banner year for RC flying and RC
Scale in general.  Judging from the models being built here, it will be a
humdinger.

Mike Chilson, thanks for all that you do.

Hope to see you all on a flying field someplace.

Mike Callahan
