Just got word that long time scale modeler and event promoter Frank Tiano passed away Monday night. Frank single-handedly help Scale R/C to grow and thrive through the years by promoting it not only with his Top Gun event and writing scale columns for several magazines, but in many ways a lot of people never saw. For example, Frank was always more than helpful if you were putting on an event with 10 people or 100 by offering up some of his Zap product he sold as gifts. Heck, he even help sponsored the Model of the Month here on RCSB! Also, he was always helpful if you needed something at one of his events. Frank was always promoting the hobby and I just don't know to many others out there that did as much of that.

I have no information about the funeral yet but will post as soon as I find out.
As a tribute to Frank. If you have any pictures with him in it please by all means post them in this tribute thread.

Blue skies and fair winds Frank.

As an Event CD and FTE Event attendee I can tell you Frank was 1st class. Not only did he run a top notch event every time I reached out with a sponsorship request I had product in my hand in less than 2 days every time. Thanks to Frank for all he did for our hobby.

A piece of this hobby is missing and will be forever remembered as the single most supportive person within it. Frankie had no equal. We look up twice and the years have rolled past with too soon a takeoff.

I cannot believe it!  I did not know Frank personally, but his contributions were immense! So sorry to see these these pioneers leaving us for a higher sphere.
