Hope you all are doing well and staying safe. Just a few things to cover this month...
1. I wanted to take a moment and remind you all that like our subscribers, our vendors who advertise on RCSB have invested in our community so I hope when you get ready to make a hobby purchase you will consider them first. Simply, go to the RCSB Vendors menu item and see the wide selection of products available. Remember, they are helping to support what we are doing here so show them some appreciation and try to use them first if possible.
2. If you are new to the site be sure and check out the great tutorials on the site's Tutorials section. Simply click on Tutorials on the site menu and start browsing. Also, if you would like to submit a tutorial, use the Contact Us form on the site menu and let me know what you would like to submit.
3, Forum Lingo - I see a lot of members incorrectly using names/terms when discussing parts of our community. This can be very confusing to others when they are trying to follow your conversation when you use incorrect terms. For example the most notable one is when someone calls a topic/thread a forum. Here are the correct terms in order of organization if you are not clear or familiar with it.
Category - A Collection of Forums that are similar (designers, kits, site info, etc) Forum - A collection of topics (also called threads) and can also contain sub-forums also (Jerry Bates, Site News, etc) Topic - A collection of posts all related to the same subject. Also called a Thread Post - When you write/post information in a Topic.
4. Did you know RCSB is on YouTube? Be sure and check out our page for some site tutorials and how-to videos. You can find our YouTube page at: https://www.youtube.com/user/rcsbvideos/
I hope you all have a great month and thank you all who help support RCSB! Don't forget to always take the opportunity to help someone new to the hobby and show them the SAFE way to do things.
Until Next Month! Mike
