Something from the archives. After the initial flights by the test pilot the Meteor found itself at the back of the hanger somewhat unused, probably the size making it intimidating.
However three or four months back Ian (son and regular pilot) decided to give it a try, it is now a firm favorite. He finds it a very relaxing flier and the engine, in spite of its complexity, very easy to manage.

Before the flight on the video some adjustment was made to the GofG, this the excuse for landing six inches off the deck. It does show how forgiving the Meteor is though, pity the 190 wasn't the same.
We have found the McDaniels 3000MaH on board glo lasts around four flights, we now take with us a largish leisure battery and a charger. These are connected to the model after every flight or two whilst having a cuppa or flying another model.
Now the engine is running so well the individual short exhausts have been replaced by long Saito flexible ones which all discharge under the model, much cleaner. I do have a Keleo ring but unfortunately the Meteor wont accept it, the short cowl being in the way.
Dave.
