Gwyn,
Glad to hear you made it home OK, that's a long ride. I think Frank may have issues with the EAA guys every year due to Sun & Fun. I am certain that Frank was not at all happy about his new runway, both the grass and black top.
If Frank can keep the EAA guys off of his runways I'm sure they will be good and smooth, this year did seem very "jet heavy", I dident get to walk around much before the rain hit but my end of the flight line was almost all jets, which I can do without!
You take care and keep us posted on your beautiful Fury project ,
Larry B
The grass strip was not bad to fly off of at all and it wasn't so far away that it was a problem. There's not much one can do about torrential rains and flooding but once they fill in the low areas and if they get the level of the grass runway a little higher it's going to be awesome.
There were a lot of jets but the top two winners of Sportsman were WW2 planes and I was pleasantly surprised that I did as well as I did with a WW1 model! The judges turned out to be very fair. I love the jets too and one of my favorites of the whole meet was the large and amazing F-104 Starfighter.
