Computer repaired, car Repaired, human rested then Wessex serviced,
A few more pictures from the World Championship in France.

We went on the 24 hour ferry to Bilbao, Spain then drove 300 km back into France.
A well loaded S Max went well.

The UK team of F4C and F4H plus a manager and assistant plus supporters.

A pumped up French team..............

The Japanese made a magnificent efort to get there loosing model engines on the way that had to be replaced.

Half the fun is renewing old friendships.
We have had Euro championships in Norway

And three Worlds held in Poland

Mu friend Sivert and fellow Swordfish builder from Sweden

All the teams were allocated flag carriers who wore miniature championship outfits.

Because many competitors could drive to France they brought the family.

I usually start with a photographic  walk round the hanger. You never know when you might see a model again.
Reminder; full results and more pictures can be found at

http://wc2014f4c.ffam.asso.fr/results/resultsF4C.php

As it happened there was not a single crash but because I flew on the F4H flight line I missed some good flight shots on the
C sight. Actually the H sight was much better with clear cross wind approaches.

The first day of flying was calm. No strong winds during the week but not often straight down the single runway

Vitaly Robertus from Russia has built a new smaller YAK 130.
It is a fabulous new pinnacle of model aeroplane building.

fact, FAI F4c is all about the Building and Flying of a model aeroplane by the competitor.

This year we all signed a detailed decloration of the parts we did and did not build and by who the model was desighned.

Vitaly protested about the low craftsmanship he received and said if it was not reviewed he would go home and take the rest of the Russians with him. The protest was not upheld.

My Wessex gets the 15 minuet H type static.    H is the new class where flying is 2-1 more important. Basically you can fly anything your bought  as long as you painted it and can produce a picture or two.

David Kopal from Poland won the individual H world championship

Sivert flew the Swordfish in F4c, drops the torpedo and has a Laser 360 V, (65cc)

Roger Nieto, France came third in H
The exuberant French style of flying suited H judges

The right engine on my Wessex stopped on all three flights, Probably a vapour lock in the heat.

Peter Tax of Czech , model has 2 x Laser 200 V twin

Martin Schonwetter at his first championship representing Germany. He enjoyed the experience and came 34th.

Parties of French Children shown round the hanger.

Why organisers expect tail dragging models with a skid to land cross wind on a hard runway i don't know.
We can do it but the approaches must be kept clear.

Running of the runway often resulted in this, even if you managed to avoid the landing lights.

Sivert's Swordfish just after the torpedo drop.

On Saturday mist held us up a few hours so the French army held an alternative.
Lars Hambro, the Swedish judge presides.

UK team, The H team of Alex Kennedy 8th, Myself 9th and Dave Toyer 11th was enough to get us the Silver team medal.
were we pleased or what

The French Red Arowows,     Etile de France gave us a full display. Local polititions were beside themselves with excitement and never stooped mention it
It added a huge amount of prestige to the event. The pilots has dinner whith us latter.

Got IT!

Although this glider pilot must have been surprised.

The vast hanger tent must have cost many thousands of Euro s.

Some grate sponsorship and an army of volunteers made this one of the very best Scale model World championships ever.
Thank you France.

On to Romania in 2016. It would be nice to see USA there?

Great presentation Richard, thank you!....

Although not indicated in the final scores, the Pitts S2A by David Law of Australia had the highest static score. Congrats to David and also to the UK team...
