As a spectator I think this was a very well run contest. Venue at Rosewood is second to none. My goal is to try and compete in this contest at some point. There are many on this site who could represent well at the Scale Masters- After attending, and watching some of first-timers have a blast flying and competing, I am now motivated to give it a shot!- Matt

Steve the Spad is not 1/3 scale but 45%! Most impressive it won pilots choice.
The big T-34 would land and on rollout Mike would put the brakes on about in front of our flight line you cold hear the tires screeching as the wheel were locking up from braking.
Pretty cool flying over all.

Hello All, Here is a picture of the RC ScaleBuilder guys and there aircraft that competed this year.

I enjoyed meeting my friends from RCSB as much as I did flying.
I encountered some fuel tank Issues and only flew 3 competition flights. One was a bad one as some how I hit a divet on takeoff roll and flipped over so my TO was a zero. It has never been on its back so this was a total shock I restarted and completed the flight.
We pulled the fuel tank and redid all the plumbing. Larry Folk with the big Top Cub was pitting next to me and was able to supply the crap I left at home. My friends from my R/C club showed up just in time for me to turn to them and tell them I need help. They pitched in and all was ready for round 4. Thanks to Matt and Clint helping out. I can't thank all of them enough!
I think I finished 12/15 since I never really put together a decent flight. My goal was a 90 and I practiced Saturday afternoon and felt that it was very possible in the final round 5, Sunday Morning. On power up for takeoff the engine sagged and quit, after two dead stick landings I think I would just go home and sort things out.
Great to meet so many RCSB guys and most of the other flyers had heard of the site but weren't as involved as the 4 of us pictured.
The only (very) significant loss was the Yellow Tail F-100. Two other went into the corn and soybeans after a power loss with little or no damage.

Well,
Brenda and I finally made it home, that is a long two day drive but we just cruised along and had an uneventful trip. What a outstanding event, as usual the Ohio club did a fantastic job of hosting and running the event along with Mitch and all the other "behind the scenes" people that made it happen.
Other than a bit of crud in my fuel system on round 3 that caused a lean run the old Fiat ran like a champ. I just aborted the flight during round 3 and landed while I still had some power. Overall I was very happy with my performance and the Fiat, it is a tough airplane to fly in the wind and make it look smooth. That's what I get for building odd subjects but what the heck!
I want to thank Bob for helping me, Brenda's back is doing better each day, now you can say that you have done the "Fiat flip"!
Hopefully everyone made it home without any trouble, see ya later.

Glad I had some of the parts and tools you needed. I don't carry any glow fuel items with me, put I do carry an assortment of tools, glues, screws and bolts to these events.
I hope everyone can make it to the NASA event at Muncie October 3,4 and 5.
We can all do it again.
Sure was windy when got home yesterday afternoon. The winds were 30+ mph.
I would not have flown Cub if they were that high at the event.
Here is a photo of the Little Toot biplane that I was talking about as the next super scale project. 50% scale. 114" wing span.
I have major parts of the plans drawn up, all drawn from the full size plans.
