The Livermore Flying Electrons are pleased to again host their annual warbird event, Warbirds Over Livermore 2015. The event will be held on Saturday, August 22nd. It's hard to believe, but this will be the fifth year for this event. As always, all types and sizes of military aircraft are welcome, including fixed wing, helicopters, gas, glow, turbines and electric. Current AMA membership is required. We try to make this a fun event for everyone, and it has been great for solidifying the positive relationship between the club and its neighbors.

Awards for Best WWI, Best WWII & Pilots Choice

No landing fee and free BBQ lunch for pilots! Just come out and have fun flying warbirds!

The address of the club is 4455 Raymond Road in Livermore, California 94550

Some pictures from last year are attached.

As a reminder, this event is coming up in two weekends. It's hard to believe this is the fifth year of the event and we are all looking forward to it.

As in prior years, we will have a PA system with background music and sound effects, and we will also have an "open mic" available all day for pilots to talk about their airplanes. We've had many visitors tell us that they really enjoyed the "open mic" so that they could learn about the aircraft being flown.

My wife Andrea will be taking some of the other pilot's wives and significant others into downtown Livermore for breakfast/brunch and wine tasting. Livermore has a quaint downtown area and over 50 wineries, so this should be very enjoyable.

The event is completely free for everyone and we will have a free BBQ lunch and a special free pilots raffle with wine and other goodies.

Military aircraft of all sizes and types and pilots of all skill levels are welcome and there will be plenty of people to help out, so come out and join us for a fun day of flying warbirds and camaraderie.

The address of the field is 4455 Raymond Road in Livermore, California 94550

My mobile number is 925.518.0674 and my email address is: gonewest1@comcast.net

There is also more information available at our club's website: www.lferc.com

I have received a few inquiries for directions to the field.  Using the field address of 4455 Raymond Road in Livermore, California 94550 will work on all of the map programs that I have tried.

Larry, we look forward to seeing you.

The weather forecast looks very good with temperatures expected to be in the 80s, low humidity and wind down the runway.  It should be a nice day.

The club’s annual warbird event, Warbirds Over Livermore 2015, was held last Saturday, August 22nd and it was a complete success! This was the 5th anniversary of the event and it was the best one ever, with great weather, 35 registered pilots and 50 aircraft. There was a lot of fun flying, including four 1/5 scale Spitfires flying at once, several successful maidens and a few unfortunate mishaps. Many of the guest pilots and visitors really enjoyed themselves and complimented our club and its friendly and supportive members. We have a nice flying facility, but it’s the great members that make our club.

Photos of the event are now available on the club’s Website.

Go to www.lferc.com and select “Photo Gallery” from the main menu. Here are a few samples:

That's the Kawasaki ki-61, with its very sleek design.  I recall that it was the only Japanese fighter with a liquid cooled engine.
