Hi,

I have been interested in rc scale for some time but have not built anything other than ARF's. I have built scale 19th century sailing models so I'm fairly comfortable with scale modeling techniques and I am a retired from aerospace engineering so I'm fairly comfortable with flight control design. I'm looking for a good first kit or scratch project......So commence recommending!

Hey Tom,
How much time, energy and money do you want to put into it? Also how large is your workspace and are you able to transport a larger plane? Do you prefer civilian or military? Narrowing down those things could help with a suggestion.

Where in Mass are you? I'm from Rhode Island and just joined the South Shore RC Club in Bridgewater, Mass.

Kyle

Hi Tom, I'm in MA, too, near the Central Mass RC Modelers field in Northborough.

Here's to Mass!  Welcome- I grew up flying with the Otis Model Aircraft club on the cape.  Two sawhorses and a reclaimed fire door will give a great starting and portable work table.  Cover with sheetrock and you can pin your plans to it!

Ill spend time looking at airplanes and find one that I can attach to.  Don't start unless your heart is in the airplane, otherwise you'll start another halfway there like me...
