I'm Mike Leggett from Morgan Hill California and Secretary for AMA charter 110, the Tomcats.  I've built model airplanes for a lot of years but have only started building scale about 10 years ago with a replica of the B17 my Dad was shot down in in 1944 over Germany.  It took three and a half years to get to its first flight and has made 75 missions over the last eight years.  After that it was the Ryan ST seen in the Tailspin Tommy movie "Danger Flight" from the 30's.  It took two and a half years to get into the air and now has hundreds of flights.   My current project that I will share on RCSB is a 1/6 scale B-26 I am building from 3 view drawings and pictures found on the internet.  My 1/9 B17G was fiberglass over contest balsa and weighs in at 27 pounds.  The scratch built Ryan is 23 pounds and a combination of underlayment foam and fiberglass.  The B26 is a year and a half under way but there is still plenty to do so I'll start a new topic for it and do some catching up.

Here a pictures of my B17G and Ryan ST:

Hi Mike, welcome to RCSB!

I am just up the road at SACRC.  Will you be at LFE's fly-in in August?

Outstanding models!  I'd love to know more about the nose cowl on the Ryan.

Welcome. I'm new here myself and am very jealous hearing from my former neighbors from California. Hate Oklahoma in the summer. Last few days near 100 degrees with about 80% humidity. Love the Ryan. I like to see more pics of it as well. Always impressed with multi engine builds and wonder how you guys ever have the nerve to put such beautiful builds in the air the first time around. In any case welcome and look forward to watching your projects.
