Hey folks!
I started the video function in my Sony Ericsson Mobile phone, clicked Record, and stuffed in in the lap of the pilot in my ESM 50cc Corsair.
I think the result was quite good. At least if you click Full Screen;

Brilliant Kenneth, when can we expect to see something similar in the S6B .

Ouch! You touch a sore point there Dave!!!
I have promised myself I will continue on it this winther. Have given full priority on improving my piloting skills this year. The success code was having 3 operative planes ready this spring, so flying wouldnt be interrupted.
For some periods I was down to only one plane, and had to to some repairs. Only minor damages to gears and such.
So, S6B ! Soon! A landing on a lake, with a video-camera on it.....hmmmmm.....

Sorry for the pain but it is really nice to hear you are going to continue with the build. All the gloom and doom that was initially piled on you regarding designer/drawing must have been off putting, it will be interesting to see if it was at all justified. Our strip has a large lake alongside and it's a beautiful aeroplane, so I for one wouldn't take much persuading.
Dave.

Sortie number 40 celebrated last sunday;
It was a bit fast and unscale flying, but does show that the FG-57 is enough power for the Corsair;

That's pretty cool. Looked like a beautiful day to fly.
I'm impressed with that motor. Seems to have the same power as the Zenoah GT80, but the sound is much better. At 15.5KG, that sounds like 34lbs. That 57cc 4-stroke pulls it around really well.
Tell me about that on-board tach. That's cool.

Don, all the RcExcl ignition modules (it seems) have an output to a tachometer.
I bought mine here;
http://www.sdshobby.net/ignition-use-mini-tachometer-p-647.h tml#.T84sTVL4LgE (Remove space after .h)
(Even the original ignition for the Saito is from RcExcl.)
I have been playing with the idea of replacing the GT-80 with an FG-57 in my Vailly Fw-190.
But not sure it would do the job.
Here is my current numbers;
GT-80 in Vailly; Menz std 24x10 5700 rpm (Rcexl CDI)
FG-57 in Corsair; Menz std 22x10 6400 rpm (Rcexl CDI)
I bought my Saito here; http://www.advantagehobby.com/168219/SAIEG57T/?cat=384
******************************
We had a Carf Mustang with a ZDZ 80 running side by side with the Vailly with a GT-80.
When you stood behind the Vailly, there is a somewhat strong wind blowing.
Behind the Carf was like a wild hurricane being unleashed.....
Or; The GT-80 is like a *****cat purring, the ZDZ-80 an angry tiger....
There is one special thing about the Vailly; The fan "steals" some rpm's. If I remember correctly, it "steals" about 300 rpm....
I have drilled some big holes in the Vailly-firewall to let air out through the wheel wells. It irritates me that the GT-80, which was quite expensive when I bought it, is so docile. It has cost me many gear-rip-outs during takeoff, and much aggrevation. Now, after many years of testing,
I can finally say that it flies well now, after realising that one of the problems was that I used 24x8, and would get a better speed with 24x10.
Maybe I should step down to 22x10.....same as I use on the FG-57....or, simply replace the GT-80 with a FG-57....
