I went to the Intermodellbau Fair last Friday the 20th and couldn't resist buying the RTF
It's a Dymond P-51 60" wingspan, electric main and tail retracts, 70 A controller, brushless inrunner turning a scale-ish 18x10 4-blade, 6 servos installed (2 flap, 2 aileron, rudder and elevator) and wingtip lights. Got it for ?199, which I thought was a good deal, I see it online for ?239.
I modified just slightly by using keflar for the tail gear pull-pull in stead of the supplied steel wire.
Unfortunately while gleuing the canopy I damaged the paintjob slightly, as the paint came off a bit when I removed the tape I secured the canopy with. But I'm just gonna call that weathering
The nice thing about electric retracts is that the operate with a scale-like speed. I programmed my transmitter by adding an extra delay for one of the main gear servos, now the left gear first moves up and when it's about 60% up the right gear moves up too. Same procedure going down.
It's just something fun to throw in the car and a bit bigger than my parkzones if I don't fancy flying the expensive stuff
