Flew the TBM Zero for the first time. Barry Ponder flew her for me and there was little to do on the flight other than assess that I might remove 3 oz of lead nose weight. Ailerons were a bit "fast" so I took 10 points off each side throws and added 10 more pts Expo to a total of 50 percent. I need to make the normal mod to the air vent on top of the carb to run a line to the inside of the plane for "normal air" and try to eliminate that rich popping sound. She ran great on the ground, but at speed she was getting loads of air pressure in the cowl. That mod usually stops that. A few pics of the day, but I don't have any flight pics. She got some good pics of the TBM Zero inflight. Thanks to Nancy Abby for her photographic efforts. The green A6M5 Army Zero (Ziroli) belongs to Sonny Coleman. Several other warbirds are grouped in the last pic, from that day's flying. Darrell Abby's TF P-40 and Barry Ponder's Aeroworks P-51D. Barry was doing the flying on the flight of the TBM Zero for me. Barry is a great pilot, so I trust him to help me sort out some of the problems I have on the TBM Zero. Sonny's Zero runs a 3W 75 engine and it really hauls the mail around! I need to go ahead and paint the canopy frame before I get too many more pics! The TBM furnished spinner bit the dust last time out, so I went with a Vortech parabolic spinner.
