I would like to introduce myself. My name is David but you can call me Jetson, I have been a lifelong scale builder and after 30 years as an engineer semi retired to build scale models for a living. I build 6-8 models per year mostly from my own drawings but I build a few kits as well, I also do Cad design, laser cutting, vinyl graphics and masks, custom fiberglass cowls, and vac formed canopies etc. We retired to North Florida where I spent many of summer vacations in my childhood, it's a wonderful untouched place that's like stepping back in time and when I am not building I am fishing in the Gulf of Mexico, my other favorite thing to do.

I was getting a little weary of groups with nothing but quadcopters and ARFs and joined to talk about building scale models. I build everything from 7 gram free flight scale to giant scale and turbine jets and love every minute of it !

I see some fantastic work going on here and hope to contribute some of my own.

Jetson

Hey Jetson, welcome aboard!  If you want to talk scale, this is the place.

Be sure to check out site supporter program to get the full benefit LINK

I tried free flight - no one close enough to help - and fat clumsy fingers.  My hat's off to you!

Looking forward to seeing a build of yours.

Welcome to the site!  Where in Florida are you?  I will be there soon as I am rapidly approaching retirement and have land in Walton County over in the panhandle where we are going to retire and I am going to do basically the same thing you are.  Looking forward to seeing your first build thread.

David
