I am happy to add my name to the builders who share their projects on RCScaleBuilder.com.

I am Ron Peterka and I am happily retired with my lovely wife at my home in Ramona California, a small town near San Diego.

I am now 79 years old with about 70 years of airplane obsession, starting with paper models from cereal boxes during WWII.    Time as flown by and my retirement came after 14 years of teaching aircraft mechanics in a junior college near Los Angeles, CA.

I and a partner co-owned a well worn Cessna 182 and we flew together as private pilots for almost 17 years. My full scale flying is over now but when my wings itch, a nice RC model calms that right down.

For about thirteen years now a good friend and I have partnered to compete in the USScalemasters competition Team classification. Unfortunately, my model piloting skills are far behind my building skills.

The teamwork with my good friend has kept us in the top ten in our class for twelve out of the past thirteen years,
most of them flying a modified Top Flite kit Stinson SR-9 Gull Wing that has accumulated well over 400 flights in practice and competition, and is still in flying condition. The latest competition model is a scratch built Stinson SR-5 "Reliant" at 1:5 scale.

Golden age aircraft are my first choice for a model and I enjoy kit bashing or scratch building large scale models now.
