I am an Engineer, have been a Flyer, a Ships Captain, a Ship Designer and Builder, more recently a Teacher and a Farmer. I started Building, Flying and sailing models, in the late 1940's, but the models just kept getting bigger and bigger. R C in the 1950's was very much a miss and miss with the occasional hit.

just to clear up any misunderstanding, I am not new to flying or modeling, having had many years with the real thing, and at least 50 years with most types of models, except Jets... I am not a competition or show flyer, I build and fly for my own pleasure and satisfaction. There is nothing better or more  satisfying, than having conceived and built something successfully, and then Flying it, Sailing it, or Driving it. Unfortunately I have reached an age where I would not be able to pass a medical to continue to fly the real thing... With the advancement of remote view and telemetry to model size,  my object, would be to recreate as far as possible, the action of the normal cockpit controls to a R C control unit.   It is not the mechanical or even the electrical design and construction of a pedestal that presents any problem. The design and construction of modern control units, do not lend themselves to adaption, unless the manufacturer is interested enough and willing to provide some basic technical information on the construction of their units.  Or someone else has already done it and can provide some input, regardless of if their project was completed, successful  or not.        H.      

There are some pretty high-tech simulator set-ups that would tick all your boxes as far as control go. not sure if you could adapt it to sending and receiving to a plane rather than the computer?
