I'm new to his forum however, not new to RC modeling as I began in the 60's.  My first RC aircraft was an AstrofFlight Bushmaster. This was an electric powered aircraft with an Astro 40 size brushed motor and lots of C sized Nicads. A real lead sled but it did fly. My radio back then was a Heathkit (Kraft). Talk about a glutton for punishment, using a kit built radio with an early electric setup.

I guess I survived that experience and have been in the hobby ever since. While I've always enjoyed the building aspect more than the flying, the past few years have been devoted more to the flying side. I gave up the gas/glow powered models and have switched to all electric. Unfortunately I've fallen pry to the instant gratification of ARF's.
One aircraft that I've always wanted to build is the Dornier 335 so recently I've been researching the availability of kits and/or plans. I've selected the 60" version rather than the 81" version.

I recently purchased the 1/10th scale (60") short kit from Wings on the Web (Gary Hethcoat). I plan on building this as electric powered. Currently I'm gathering all the components for the build.

If there is any interest on the forum I will do a build log although I have seen some past build logs and don't wish to add another if there is no interest.

The downside of living in Florida is that there is no "Winter build season" like you Northerners have.

Anyhow, enough about me. Since joining this forum I've enjoyed reading what you guy's are building and all the helpful tips found here. I may be 73 years old however, never to old to learn something new.

Well, hello from sunny Florida

Ron

Hi Ron, welcome to RCSB. What part of FL are you in? I'm down in Weston and there are quite a few members here on RCSB that live in southern FL.

Hey Ron, welcome to RCSB!

There is always interest in a build log; you never know when someone else has a more better way of doing something!

Yeah Ron, there are several clubs up that way. A friend of mine, Lyman Slack, always sends me event notifications and such. That area is far more active than down here.

Welcome to RCSB Ron, your from the land of oranges, sandy beaches and an occasional very bad storm. I see quite a few fellas from Florida building hear abouts. I find it to be an excellent site for all the scale examples found here, I'm new also and no spring chicken at 75, age is not a factor in this hobby so you will be in good company.

Hey Ron...I'm also in Leesburg and I guess at 63 I've left the 'spring chicken' stage of life. I'm slowly getting back to building on a Bell P-63 Kingcobra in 1/5 scale loosely based on Palmer plans. (You can review my build there.) I'm also working on a home-built CNC router.
