Hello everyone; I am Doug Bromley (StearMan) from Tulsa. I have been a member of Tulsa Glue Dobbers for over thirty years and am currently the president serving 160 members. We have had several good scale and/or scratch builders in the club but the number is dwindling. Over the years I have built and flown Ziroli 101" B-25, Ziroli 77" Stearman, TF giant P-51 and Corsair, and Vallencourt Hawker Hurricane. Not done the WWI planes yet. My scratch built 1917 Ingram-Foster pusher biplane won a magazine award but I forgot which one. And once a year I proudly fly a 1/3 scale Flying Flea built thirty years ago by a deceased friend and handed over to me by his family. I am currently ready to glass and paint a Midwest AT-6 that kept me busy during Covid. Upcoming projects include completely rebuilding the front third of the P-51 fuselage. This was the only damage after a full speed departure of the wing and a yard dart crash into a very muddy creekbed. Also soon to start the complete recovering and painting of a 1/5 scale P-47. Goodbye Tar Heel Hal. Hello something different.
So, no matter how long you live, this hobby never runs out of inspiration. I hope to learn from and contribute to this group for many more cool planes.

Welcome to the site! You need to steer some of your club members here as well!
All I know about Tulsa is that it is always windy!
It sounds like you are into the scale scene so little I can add. Become a member, best $20 (or 3.2 gallons of gasoline worth) here to spend.

Doug,
Wow! With such a repertoire as your background, it would seem to suggest we could learn from you.
Sounds like you’ve got several projects at once.
Oh yeah, welcome to RCSB site. Just as your club, we’re family & help / share / learn & enjoy each other’s company & our models. Many of us have access to documentation & photos as well as tricks of trade to pull off that special detail.
As you probably already know, there are several active vendors in our site offering discounts as well as tips & ideas.
Lots of members are retired military, pilots, doctors & big rig truck drivers (me ).
Glad you chose to join us.
Cheers,
Gary (Skye)
