Greetings fellow scale builders,
This month we have just a few items to cover...
1. WYSIWYG Editor - I wanted to let our Mac, iPhone, and iPad users that use the Safari browser (the default browser that comes with these devices) know that due to Apple finally forcing mainstreaming their updated Safari browser that you can now use the WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) Editor other users have been enjoying over the years. It should be enabled automatically for you, but if not go to your profile ([My Profile] on the site menu) and click the Edit Profile link and make sure "Enable the WYSIWYG post editor" is set to "Yes". If you would like to continue to use the non-WYSIWYG editor simply set this to "No".
2. Aircraft Types - I wanted to address a troubling comment I overheard recently at an event and have heard several time in the past. To quote the statement made: "RCSB is for building warbirds only." NOT TRUE! While a large number of our builds are warbirds we want ALL KINDS and ALL SIZES of scale aircraft discussed and built here. So if you hear someone saying this PLEASE correct them. We want our scale community to GROW and feel welcomed here. No one wants to limit the type of scale aircraft being built here.
3. Frequently Ask Questions - We have many new members recently so I wanted to point out again that if you have any questions about RCSB be sure to check it out by clicking on FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) on the site menu at the top of every page. 99% of your questions about how the site works and how to do something on the site can be answered there.
4. Build Threads - I hope if you are starting a new project this year you will consider starting a build thread. No matter what your skill level, what the subject is, you (and others) can benefit from your thread and some of the discussion and tips other may offer. It's really easy, Just go to the appropriate forum, then click the "New Topic" link in the upper right corner of the page to get started.
That's all for this month. Hope you all have a great November!
Mike
