New Member so hello to all my fellow scratch builders.

I never real been a member of this type of social media before. Old school guy.

This looks like the place to be!

Scratch building is a dying art form so i appreciate being here with all of you.

i have been playing with 2 aircraft for the last 15 years. One being a SPAD XIII. that was designed from full scale prints that have been modified to produce a scale detail replica.
2 prototypes and  lot of mistakes.
my goal is to get this thing in the air in the next couple years.

The other is a Lockheed L-1049 G prop liner.  when i start to get frustrated i put it down and back and forth i go.
Again  labor of love.

Don't fly much but i can hibernate for the winter in my shop.

Building season for me starts in sept just after the first frost and leaves start to change color.

just love to build a one off thing or rare thing.
i guess that's why i appreciate the early pioneers.
I would appreciate feedback on this for sure.

Passion is what drives us to use our minds and skills.
Keep it up
Cheers
Donny.

Donny,

Welcome aboard...

What you share in your posts will go a long long way here. Over time multiple rev of the Connie has been built here. Most recently the builder built a model larger than his shop and had quite a time assembling so we could see just what he had nursed for over a year. There are several WWI Axis and Allied builders here as well.

Here's a Camel project. Clk

I appreciate that.
My Connie wing that is  on my table is 184 inches without tip tanks. so there goes the bench
The SPAD is a 50% scale project also. Shop is pretty cramped.
I need an aircraft hanger for this stuff.

But you know what they say;

The bigger you build the ore easier it is to see from the ground. Lol

my daughter a few years back bought e a hanger 9 cub on floats 1/4 scale i think.
in she shop she hangs collecting dust. Good airplane but no connection to it.

I do however live on a lake.
Perhaps this summer off the back of the Bennington tripoon.

Long way to becoming a good pilot but building that's a different level. LOVE IT!!

I still have a set of Kraft retracts in my bins. Also a radio that had the pulse stick for the rudder and elevator back in 71.
Todays radio my Futaba T12FG Wow. I need to go to school to use this thing.

we need to get the youth involved more to carry on.

Oh I will be here

Cheers Brother
