I just wanted to introduce myself as a new member. I'm currently building a Skyvan SD-3.30 as my first big scale plane. I will probably be looking for quite a bit of advice as this big project progresses. Talk to you all later. Thanks.

Fred,
Welcome aboard! You will get lots of good quality advice here at RCSB. Tell us about you build. I think it is a twin engine plane correct? Gas or Electric power? What size?
Sounds quite interesting.

Yes it is a twin. They replaced the beech 18s that UPS used to use out of our local airport. Box with wings :)

I'll be an electric twin?

Ok. The plane I'm building is similar to Shorts SkyVan SC-7 and SD-3.30 aircraft, however has some changes. I have two JBA .91 nitro engines, two composit 3 blade propellers. Has a back door exit to launch paratroopers with ActionMan. It has already installed navigation lights. Right now I'm trying to develop in my workshop, a servo controled braking system mechanics. The SkyVan is heavy, about 7-8 kg with engines, two fuel tank and all electronics included. Has 1600mm of fuselage and 2200mm wing span.

Hi Fred and welcome to RCSB!

I am sure you will find a lot of help here, but to take full advantage of the site check out the site supporter program here http://www.rcscalebuilder.com/page_display.asp?pid=5

Becoming a site supporter will allow you unlimited posts, the ability to post pictures and access to the plans repository and walkarounds on the site.

This site is better than any magazine, you don't have to wait for delivery and there is fresh content daily ALL directed at scale modelers!  Plus the international flavor and friendships that develop.
