Hi all! I've been lurking around for awhile now, and decided to join. I'm in the process of building my first scale model. It's a BUSA 1/3 scale Stearman. I'm sure i will have many questions before I get it completed. Thanks Lenny.

Lenny, you have come to the right place! I know there have been several Stearman builds - not all of them BUSA, but any of them would have something to contribute.
Welcome to RCSB!

Lenny,
I join with Jeff in welcoming you to this site. You mentioned you’ve been lurking this site for some times, so no need to “sell” you in all the benefits. I’ve got a few photos & docs in the Stearman that might be useful to you as you progress into your build & into the details stage.
Cheers,
Gary (Skye)

Thank you Gary. I would like to see some pictures of your build, and especially the detailing. I have the wing panels mostly completed and starting horizontal stabilizer and elevator now. Hope to have it completed by friday. Them move to the vertical fin and rudder.

Thank you Jeff! I haven't searched real hard for anything on here yet. Looking forward to Stearman build threads.

Lenny, one thing you should do now, before getting too far into the build, is to pick a subject airplane, whether the one Gary has or another, but try and source all your details from that one airplane.
Many things are generic, but things are added or removed or changed during production runs - or the owner of the full-size adds something

Lenny,
Welcomer to the family, Spend some time reading the threads and in particular the Press here for the tutorials
There is a wealth of information that will help you avoid a lot of pain as you proceed in your building quest.
Collect your documents first!

Sparky, I'm new to RCSB and came across your post. The picture next to "Sparky" looks like a Northrup A-4, like the one hanging in the Smithsonian museum. Is it? I made drawings for the Northrup A-4 and built a 1/6 scale model. I flew it once and it flew like the real thing, not good! Is it a Northrup A-4, and did you build one?
