Sparky, I'm new to RCSB and came across your post. The picture next to "Sparky" looks like a Northrup A-4, like the one hanging in the Smithsonian museum. Is it? I made drawings for the Northrup A-4 and built a 1/6 scale model. I flew it once and it flew like the real thing, not good! Is it a Northrup A-4, and did you build one?

My Avitar is a Northrop Gamma. It isn't hanging in the Smithsonian but sitting on skies in the explorers section at the downtown museum.
The biggest issue I had was the short coupled design. Grass was tolerable but pavement was pretty ugly. I tried a gyro but didn't really have much success with that mostly on my part.

Welcome aboard! the 1/3 scale Stearman is an excellent choice. You have come to the right place as it is a wealth of info and a great bunch of guy's from which to get question's answered that may arise . After awhile you will get to know the guy's especially if you follow one of their projects. What's nice is that there are so many past projects in the archives to look at too.
