Hi
I have been flying P47 Thunderbold a lot of years , every year after the second year of flying the mixture change overtime of each summer what I finally notice was that the carb bolts came loose , after an engine failure and a successful dead stick I decided to figure out the issue and stop it from happening. Wish DA had this simple solution from the get go . Wire the bolts-attached is a picture .

Clean bolts and holes with acetone and use blue Loc-Tite.... and since you have the holes drilled go ahead and add safey wire.

Line the holes you drilled in the red bolts up and push a sturdy wire right through both and bend the ends a bit.

Simple and secure.

No it wont make a difference to the air sucked in.
