I have just completed my latest project.
It is a Balsa USA 1/4 scale Fokker D-VII.
Powered by a US Engines 41cc with a spring starter. Radio is Futaba with Hitec 645mg servos. Pull-pull cables on the rudder and elevators. Covering is Sig Koveral sealed with minwax pollycrylic. Paint is rustoleum spray cans and custom mixed latex for the lozenge cammo. The lozenge cammo was hand painted. The flying serpent graphics were done by KirbyKustom graphics. The colors are those of Ltn. Hugo Schafer of Jasta 15.
I don't know what the all up weight of the model is, but I had to add 4.5 pounds of lead to get the CG in the right place.
Yesterday wound up being get the engine sorted out and taxi tests due to a cross wind that did not get mentioned in the forecast and would not quit. Also got the first (and hopefully last nose-over) . First flight TBD, maybe this week.

Mike

The maiden flight did not happen Saturday. But it did happen this afternoon. I am very happy. Two very good flights with no drama. I was too busy to take pictures but some were taken as soon as the photographer works his magic, I'll try to post them here. With his permission.
