OK Lane.  Thanks.
All good to know.  I need to bookmark these pages or start taking notes before I forget this stuff.  :)  My memory isn't what it used to be (ask my wife) but, was never very good anyway.  :)

This is going to be fun project and great learning experience.  I need to make a list of "stuff" and go shopping soon but, don't want to get the cart before the horse.  I have to remember ...parts prep first.

What's the best way to remove the glue residue from the now stripped parts?  Can I use Acetone, MEK/MPK, paint thinner ...?

Garry, PM sent you just now. Many of your questions might be answered after reading thru it. Lane

But, I'd avoid MEK if you can. It's pretty nasty stuff! Acetone is pretty handy and I use it a lot. I also use Denatured Alcohol for cleaning epoxy off my hands and off the model it it gets where I don't want it. Butyrate Thinner can be used to thin 5 minute or 30 minute Epoxy to paint it on like a heavy clear coat around your engine box and other areas you want it sealed from fuel. I also like Butyrate thinner as it has the smell I like from the old days in the 60's when I built control line models using Butyrate dope. It also cleans glues off things, but it's WAY more expensive than other thinners.
