Hi Scalers,
My name is Arthur, I am (too) from the Netherlands. I have found this forum because member Ram6 pointed me to it in a Dutch Facebook Scalers group (so many thanks for that Ramses!).
I have been (wild) flying foamies now for over a decade, but in summer 2015 I joined a club, the EMCR in Rozenburg, Netherlands. To say that that was an eye opener is an understatement, I never knew it was such fun to be part of a club! Last year I started flying balsa planes (I started off with a Hangar 9 Meridian) and now most of the foamies are gone. I had fun with them, but once converted to balsa you probably never look back.
This season I am looking at "upgrading" from a 100% electro fleet to be having at least one gas powered plane.
Over the years I have developed a somewhat sweet/weak spot for de Haviland Chipmunks, especially the ones build in the EU (without the bubble canopy). I have a kit from Manzano Laser waiting to be built, but I'm currently thinking about taking it one step further, and am looking at a kit from woodclassics.de, which looks even better (and bigger) and is better suited for the 38cc Zenoah I have waiting to be used. One slight thing though; I probably have get a bigger car (yet again) for this one
First thing is to sell off some (not yet build) projects to get me some funding to buy the kit and parts and then I hopefully still get some building done during this winter.
So, there's lots and lots to be learned to build a proper scale plane, I'm just starting off. Once I get my a.. into action I'll definitely start a thread over here!
Greeting from Holland, Arthur
