Hi Folks!

I am a modeller from Brazil and I have joined this group in order to get as many information about scale building as possible. Here, in Brazil, is not commom to find modellers that like to build models, the most part of the modellers prefers the ARF's or RTF's and have no commitment with scale precision. So, it is difficult to find kits like the Top Flite ones and almost impossible to find other ones like Royal or Pica. I even will not mention Meister because they don't know him! I have some Royal kits, Ziroli projects and intent to dedicate more time to these projects.

I am a mechanical engineer in function of my passion for flying models and I always use my knowledge when building my models. However, I didn't have a good workshop and also my available time for building models was restricted, but now, with a new place (at least!), I intent to dedicate more time to my models and finish some ones.

My prefered airplanes are the warbirds from the WW2, mainly the P-51 and P-47.

Regards,

Eduardo Lara

Hi Eduardo!

One reason it is hard to find Royal and Pica kits is that they are both out of business! There are still some unbuilt kits floating around though so you may be able to come across one.

Once you start building and posting you will get all sorts of help, and do not be afraid to ask questions! All the guys here are happy to share info.

Welcome to RC Scale Builder!

Hey Eduardo,

Welcome to RCSB!

You'll find this is a great community and everyone is always ready to help.
I hope you are going to do a build thread once you have selected a model.

BTW, I fly to Brazil regularly, Sao Paulo mainly, you live around there?

Danny

Hi guys,

Thank you all for your reception and comments. I see that there is another person from Brazil too and a guy from Portugal, so, we can talk in Portuguese sometimes!... Obrigado pela recep??o!...

Jeff, yes, I know about Royal and Pica kits. My first Royal kit was a junior P-51 that I bought here, in Brazil, in 1998 and it was when I knew about the quality of these kits. So, after that, I was looking for other kits of this brand, looking on ebay and other sites. As you have mentioned, sometimes we found these kits in a pretty good condition.

Danny, yes, I intend to start a new scale project soon and, probably, it will be this Royal junior P-51, that is with me for a long time! Now I am finishing a non scale airplane (a Sig Astro Hog) that I am building to a friend that bought some RC parts for me in the USA. He asked me to assemble the kit as the payment for the parts, that was a good deal! Unfortunately, I don't live close to Sao Paulo! I live at Porto Alegre, that is the capital of the last state of Brazil in the South direction. This region was colonized tipically by Italians, Germans and Polish, so, there are many European characteristics here. If you have a chance, take a time to visit this region too! I work in a international company and, sometimes, I have a chance to travel to Canada (mainly), USA and Australia, but not to Europe. However, I was already in Italy for vacations, I have Italian citizenship.

Regards,

Eduardo Lara
