Greetings!  What a great forum.  I need to become a site supporter (SOON)!

I have been building model airplanes for over 45 years.  Like many guys my age, I started with .049 Cox control line planes.  I then had a long gap where I didn't build anything while I got interested in cars, motorcycles, girls and college.  I got back into models in the early 1990's and built my second RC airplane.  Since then I'm proud to have become an instructor on fixed wing aircraft and embarrassed that after ten years of flying helicopters I am very safe but still a novice heli pilot.

I like to build as much as I like to fly.  I've currently got 17 air-worthy aircraft (7 over the limit my wife has suggested to me). Some of my go-to aircraft include a Stevens Aero 540Edge, a Morris Hobbies TopCap, a Great Planes Extra 60, a Horizon Hobby foam T-28 Trojan, a .30 Raptor, an Align Trex 450 and a Horizon xCmp Blade, ParkZone Micro P-51, Alien Aircraft Dragon.

My current build is a Staggerwing Beech from Zirolli plans.  I purchased the plans from Nick's site and will return for some cosmetic bits.  I've acquired the retracts from Century Jets (FANTASTIC workmanship!!!) and the kit from Precision Cut Kits (beautiful LASER cutting and high quality wood) and I'm powering this airplane with an electric motor!!  I've acquired a EFlite RIMFire 65cc (about 7,500 watts).  The Zirolli thread on this forum has already been very useful.  I BETTER get with it and become a Site Supporter!

Thanks to all for such a great forum.  I'll contribute as best I can.

DaveM

Hi Dave and welcome to RCSB.  You won't regret  becoming a site supporter - lots better than a magazine subscription and FRESH CONTENT DAILY!  Plus all the other benefits.
