I was born in Southern California but my wife and I have been here in PA since about 2006 for my job.

"Vulgar Vultures" is the Squadron my Grandfather was attached to in WWII. He flew B-24's out of Italy and was even PIC on a mission to Germany with George McGovern. I recently got in contact with the Tailgunner on one of his flights and we got together last year and flew on the Collings Foundation B-24! Here's a picture album of that event if you wanna' look:
http://s132.photobucket.com/albums/q27/uhhuh35/Sgt%20Thomas% 20Boyd%20May%202012/

My Dad taught me to fly Control-Line back in 1968 on a Magician with a Fox .35  Redhead (I think) when I was just 5 years old. He even has a 8 MM film of my Solo! Got into RC in the 70's and have stuck with it ever since although my Dad and I did go to the Vintage Stunt Championships out in Arizona a few times in recent years.

My Dad is a Master Builder who is finishing up a Control Line ME-109 K-4 that he has been working on for decades. He's told me stories about flying Free Flight in the SoCal area in the 50's and how he met Carl Goldberg a few times. Apparently, if you won a contest with one of his planes he would give you 20 dollars cash on the spot?

My Dad was also a MECA Member for quite a long time and had a huge collection of engines. He recently sold off the majority of them but asked me which ones I'd like to have so I immediately took the Morton M-5 off his hands. Unfortunately, all the Elf's had already been sold! As the story goes my particular Morton is said to have been owned by Jack Benny sidekick Rochester but there's no documentation to back that up.

My Dad and I love the Electric Revolution in R/C so we fly Electric almost exclusively although I do have a few 4-Strokes, a Magnum 120 and Saito 46 that are destined for a few projects.

I'm getting tired of those assembly line cheap Chinese foamies that don't perform that great (Nothing against the Chinese) so I've decided to just concentrate on Balsa from here on out. I have a multitude of projects in the pipeline to include a Wildcat, DR. 1, Rare Bear and such. All of which are small enough to fit in the average back seat of a car. The biggest project I have is a 4 Star 120 which is probably gonna' get the Magnum 120.

I'm finishing up a Telemaster 40, a Micro Telemaster and a KAOS .25 that my Dad and I are gonna' fly when I go visit him in SoCal in April/May.

Wow! Wasn't expecting my intro thread to be this long, but there it is!

Fayetteville, about 14 miles North of Gettysburg on Highway 30. I've tried to contact and join the two local Flying Clubs with no success so I've resorted to flying out of the odd Parking lot and open field as you well know are abundant here in PA! Not a day goes by when I say to myself; "Oh that would be nice place to fly!"
